Stage Depot  June 4, 2008

It's a little oasis in the desert steeped in Arizona History. This was an early stage way station... not actually a stop but more a place to refresh horses and grab a bite to eat. The building age and stories have several versions but Wild West Gazette intends to dig out the facts!

Here's what their website says:
Our historical Stage Stop Bait and Tackle Shop was built in 1910
and was one of the original stage line stops on the gold and copper mining routes
from Phoenix, to Prescott, Arizona. Freight wagons and stage coach's used this
old west stop until 1916. It was one of the longest running stage lines in the history of Arizona.

Sid Hagel & Bob Roloff visit with Jim.

Stage Stop carries a good supply of bait and tackle as well as some ammo.

The store has a little bit of everything you could imagine from clothing to pots
and pans to antiques. It's a fun place to explore.
